Our Leadership
The Safety Rack is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors with diverse expertise across industries, including safety, manufacturing, advocacy, and business leadership. Their collective experience provides strategic direction and oversight, ensuring our mission to close the PPE equity gap for women is both impactful and sustainable. With a shared commitment to workplace safety and gender equity, our board plays a vital role in shaping our initiatives, fostering partnerships, and driving meaningful change in the industry.
In addition to our board, we are proud to have a team of Women’s Industry PPE Advisors—professionals who work directly in the field and understand the real challenges women face when it comes to properly fitting protective gear. These advisors serve as advocates, providing valuable insights and guidance to help us create change, to ensure that women across all industries have access to the PPE they need to work safely and effectively.
Amy Roosa founded The Safety Rack in 2022 as a social media platform dedicated to raising awareness about personal protective equipment (PPE) brands designed specifically for women. As our community grew, so did the conversations around the challenges women face in finding properly fitting safety gear. Through feedback from women in the workforce and employers alike, it became clear that the issue extended beyond awareness—it was a systemic gap in equity that needed action.
In response, The Safety Rack evolved into a nonprofit organization committed to closing the PPE equity gap for women across all industries. Today, we focus on education, research, and advocacy to drive meaningful change in workplace safety standards, ensuring that all women have access to the protective gear they need to work safely and confidently.
The Safety Rack is dedicated to closing the PPE equity gap for women across all industries. We believe that safety should not be a privilege, and every woman deserves access to properly fitting personal protective equipment that meets industry standards. Through education, research, and advocacy, we work to ensure that employers, manufacturers, and distributors recognize and address the unique safety needs of women in the workforce.
Our mission is to create lasting change by raising awareness, driving industry accountability, and providing resources that empower women to work safely and confidently. By collaborating with stakeholders at every level, we aim to break down barriers and make equitable PPE the standard, not the exception.
